Corporate Partners gather in Singapore for exclusive Singapore Airlines and Jewel tours

The final FTE Innovation & Startup Hub Live event of 2019 took place in Singapore this month and brought together a number of our Corporate Partners and startup members for exclusive tours, pitches and meetings.

Among the Corporate Partners who made the trip to Singapore were Hamad International Airport (sponsor of the FTE Innovation & Startup Hub Live events in 2019), Japan Airlines, Vantage Airport Group, Hong Kong International Airport, Securiport and Vancouver Airport Authority, and they were joined by innovation leaders from China Eastern and Los Angeles World Airports.

The Corporate Partners enjoyed a guided tour of KrisLab, Singapore Airlines’ digital innovation lab.

On Monday 11 November – the day before the FTE-APEX Asia EXPO show got underway – the Corporate Partners enjoyed a guided tour of Singapore Airlines’ digital innovation lab, KrisLab, which opened earlier in 2019.

Inside KrisLab, attendees had the chance to interact with technology, including a VR headset used to help visualise cabin design concepts.

They had the chance to interact with a number of technologies, including virtual reality (VR) solutions, before sitting down for a Q&A with Singapore Airlines’ VP Digital Innovation, Jerome Thil, who offered in-depth insight into the airline’s innovation strategy and future plans.

Jerome Thil, VP Digital Innovation, Singapore Airlines hosted a Q&A with the Corporate Partners during the KrisLab tour.

Following this, the Corporate Partners were transferred to Jewel Changi Airport where they enjoyed a guided tour of the stunning facility. The tour culminated with a visit to the Changi Experience Studio – an impressive technological showcase which helps to tell the story of Changi Airport.

Our Corporate Partners also had a guided tour of the stunning Jewel Changi Airport facility…

Including the impressive Changi Experience Studio.

On Tuesday 12 November, 10 of our startup members had the opportunity to pitch their products and services during Day 1 of FTE-APEX Asia EXPO.

Ranging from a flexible aircraft seating solution to a service that can help airlines and airports offset carbon emissions, the startups used the platform to showcase a raft of forward-thinking solutions.

Ten of our startup members pitched their products and services, opening the door to potential collaboration with our Corporate Partners. Among them was Flyhidrate – a company whose products can help to combat the effects of jet lag.

Attention now turns to the FTE Innovation & Startup Hub Live events in 2020, which will take place in Vancouver in April, Dublin in June, Las Vegas in September, and Singapore in November. If you would like to get involved, please contact us here.
